Petite histoire des plateaux abandonnès
HD VIDEO, 2012, 8.20 MINUTES
Abandoned movie sets are scattered around south moroccan deserts. In this work they are used again but the actors are two local kids, born not far from the film studios, now almost abandoned, near Ouarzazate.. The two kids re-enact a few lines from movies that have been shot there, an American horror movie, Lawrence of Arabia and all around the uncontaminated landscapes of the Draa Valley stand outside of time.

EVERY WORLD’S A STAGE 2012, Photographic Series / Serie fotografica
Deserts possess a particular magic, since they have exhausted their own futures, and are thus free of time. Anything erected there, a city, a pyramid, a motel, stands outside time.
J.G. Ballard, The Atrocity Exhibition
I deserti possiedono una magia particolare, perchè hanno esaurito tutti i loro futuri e perciò vivono fuori dal tempo. Qualsiasi cosa eretta in questi luoghi, una città, una piramide, un motel, sta fuori dal tempo.
No More Stars (Star Wars) Abandoned Movie Sets / Set abbandonati, Tunisia September 2010, Photographic Series /Serie Fotografica, Lambda Prints
This is a series of photographs taken in the abandoned movie sets of the film saga Star Wars, filmed in different locations in the south of Tunisia. Unexpectedly those sets have been left on location and therefore after years some of it have now become ruins, almost as some sort strange archeological sites.
2009, 16mm film, 12 min, actors: Maya Sansa, Mauro Remiddi
Two actors create a sort of tableau-vivant; a frozen moment from what seems a movie from the 50’s. Suddenly they start singing the news, all from the August 2008 headlines, in a minimalistic chorus.
2006, 16mm b/n, 10’45” Actors: Anastasia Astolfi, Filippo Timi. Produced in collaboration with / Prodotto in collaborazione con MACRO, Rome & Cinecittà Luce, Rome
Two actors, displaced on a hill and framed by a wooden “drawn-like” perspective of a room, re-enact VERBATIM all the voices they hear in their headphones. The interviews are about tv memories and archival news on the advent of the TV set as a normal accessory for everyone’s home.
The Night Walker (whose title is inspired by William Castle’s horror film) takes its starting point with the story of a man terrified by everything, which becomes the subject of the song’s composition of the Londoner duo Smoke Machine (check now Porcelain Raft and ex-Sunny Days Set Fire), whose making-of is the central element of the video. The video installation is accompanied by a 7 inches album with the songs that were developed in the video shooting process.
